INTRODUCTORY
The last directory year probably
shows more and better
improvements in West Bay City, than any other twelve months
since its incorporation. Prominent among those signs of
prosperity is the rapid transit furnished by the electric street
railway, the opening of the Cincinnati, Saginaw & Mackinaw
Railroad, the adoption of the free delivery system by the postal
authorities and the establishment of the West Bay City Daily Post.
With these metropolitan-like improvements and with a very large
percentage of increase in population, West Bay City now more than
ever before is in a condition to make itself felt as a formidable
business competitor of the pushing city on the east side of the river.
The re-numbering of the city must
make the present edition of the
directory of more value than any other of the ten volumes preceding it.
The new street directory will, to the citizens at large, especially
to the new letter carriers, prove all but indispensable. It has
been made to conform to the systems of numbering recently adopted.
What a prosperous municipality would
be West Bay City, Bay City and
Essexville under one incorporation!
